These floor and wall rugs are directly inspired by the von Brockdorff family crest, the winged fish. This fairy tale creature can be interpreted in many different ways, for example as a symbol of power, beauty and dream. It also symbolizes movement and the freedom of flight.
The pattern is just a pretense to create a timeless piece and escape from reality.
All MvB rugs are hand-woven and are the result of the use of exceptional know-how brought by two weaving workshops, one for knotting and one for tufting.
Each rug is woven with wool and silk threads, whether natural or artificial silk (viscose of bamboo).
Their originality also stems from the variety of lines, the depth created by the numerous shades of color and by the weaving techniques.
